'Chunhyang' to be staged in Canada

Children's English musical Chunhyang, created by Theater Seoul, will be staged at the Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival next month, said a troupe spokesperson on Monday.

Chunhyang is the first Korean show to be officially invited to the popular festival which marks its 28^th anniversary this year. The festival is one of the biggest of its kind in North America. The musical will be performed Aug. 13–23 at the Westbury Theatre.

It is based on the Korean traditional fairytale of the same title and often referred to as the Korean version of Romeo and Juliet.
